Head In The Clouds

My head is in the clouds and I'm not trying to bring it back down. “Come back to reality," "get your head out of the clouds." I'm not lost. I know exactly where I am. I am above the heaviness, where I can breathe without the pressure of everything that exists at ground level pressing down on my chest. Escapism is not a flaw, wanting respite from the constant noise and obligation and performance. Here, in the clouds, everything is softer. The edges blur. The sharp things can't reach. I'm searching for serenity, and I won't find it with my feet planted firmly on ground that's always shifting, on earth that is just the illusion of itself. So let them say I'm disconnected.
