Suspended Verdict

Suspended Verdict

"I live in Iran—a place suspended in uncertainty. For some time now, war has cast its shadow, and even before that, pressure and confusion weighed heavily on us. The policies of Trump, the endless ambiguity, and the incompetence of those in power pushed me to create this painting. I worked on it for over a month. In this piece, I tried to capture the feeling of being lost in limbo. The hammer leaning against the statue represents the looming force of decisions—ones that threaten to shatter what remains still. The mask lying on the ground speaks to a personal dilemma: should I accept the role these policies assign to me, or reject it altogether? The dark background reflects the overwhelming uncertainty of this moment. And in the end, I am the statue—motionless, locked in time, standing silently in this dark era.
