An Istanbul photographer, curator, and educator who studied engineering first, then photography and cinema, with a master's in cinema from Marmara University. An official Fujifilm photographer and a jury member at international competitions, she holds the AFIAP distinction, teaches photography, cinema theory, and art history, and has written three books. Since 2015 she has photographed ballet dancers across countries and cultures, beside a minimalist, architectural eye for geometry, space, and light. She entered NFTs in late 2021 as artist, curator, and speaker. Her Editions, the GulYildizNinfa drops, and 1-of-1s: Thirty-two works here, collected at mint and through Ninfa.

Artist statement in their own words, sent to the collector, September 2026
Gül Yıldız is an Istanbul-based photographer, curator, educator, and visual artist with an interdisciplinary background in engineering, photography, cinema, and television. She initially studied engineering before pursuing her passion for visual arts. She graduated from the Photography and Videography Department and also completed a degree in TV and Radio Programming. She holds a Master’s Degree in Cinema from Marmara University.
She is an Official Fujifilm Photographer and serves as a jury member in numerous international photography competitions. She holds the AFIAP distinction and teaches photography, theoretical cinema, and art history at Fujifilm as well as at her own art studio. She is the author of three books focusing on cinema and photography.

Her photographic practice focuses primarily on minimalist photography, architectural photography, ballet, and portraiture. She has photographed architecture and urban spaces in addition to her long-term work documenting ballet dancers and ballerinas around the world.
Photography and art practice
Gül Yıldız began photographing ballerinas in 2015 and has continued this body of work across different countries and cultures. Alongside her ballet photography, she has developed a distinctive minimalist photographic language and has created extensive work in architectural photography, focusing on geometry, space, light, symmetry, and the relationship between human beings and their environments.
Her work explores the intersection of photography, cinema, architecture, and contemporary visual culture.
NFT and Web3
Gül Yıldız entered the NFT and Web3 art world in late 2021. She has participated in the international NFT scene as an artist, curator, and speaker: a speaker at Lisbon and Bucharest NFT events, and the photo curator at the Bucharest NFT event.
