FABLES 02
FABLES traces the meeting of two ways of seeing—the unfiltered vision of a child and the calculated gaze of a machine. Over two years, my five-year-old played with lines, colors, and shapes, mapping her understanding of the world. Her spontaneous gestures and direct approach with different materials have always captivated me.
These drawings became raw material for AI, which (guided by me) reinterpreted her gestures into abstract paintings. In motion, the forms shift again, bridging spontaneity and algorithmic logic, human play and machine translation.
While animating these images, unexpected glitches began to appear—strange distortions and moments of misinterpretation. I became fascinated by these accidents, which revealed something like the machine’s own visual limits. In exploring them, I found a new layer of meaning: childhood gestures becoming open-ended narratives not just through the child’s imagination, but through the machine’s struggle to make sense of them.
