Comments: It was the week before carnival in Rio. I got to the hotel elevator and characters busted out laughing and were all dressed up in feathery angel wings and sparkling devil horns. It felt more like a fashion show than it did a festival. People were already drinking and dancing in the street. There was a sense of magic and mystery in the air. Angels and Demons took over the city and the party had not even started yet. It was a pre game. Marcus met me at the hotel in the morning and we took a long, long walk over to “Rasta Beach.” He brought the joints and we found a nice spot on the beach and sparked up. The name is true to its roots. Lots of Rastas and marijuana smoke. People playing football like hackey sack and kids running around playing in the water. The views were incredible. Where the mountains meet the sea. It was truly breathtaking, and even more inspiring since I was pretty high. The energy was immaculate, the vibes were great, and we made art in the beach. Then a rainstorm came and you can see lightning in the distance out at sea. Nobody moved, everyone kept on playing and chilling like the sun was shining in our hearts and souls. The weather didn’t matter. We adjusted to the flow, like the water crashing on the beach and falling from the sky onto the sand.
