Going out in public fully in disguise to shopping mall portrait places in the greater NYC area in 1998. Early fantastic nobody interventionist performance art. The mall photographer is trained in packaging and stereotyping identities, and believes i am real. He tries to make me look "normal" In presenting an image/character to an unwitting collaborator, the performance allows for the observer to complete the work of art. The array of humorous identities, full of cringey mistakes and happy accidents in the series make for an interesting prediction of what my work would become 20+ years later on Instagram, a multiplicity and decentralized self of the digital age.
