I Bloomed Within You

I spread my petals like wings in a basement bathroom. I attached to the meat of your throat, lungs, cheeks. I let you breathe me in. I let you grow me, I let you touch me. I made you spit out everything that would’ve forced us into a dead sprout. You choose now: you keep me, you love me, I inhabit. You pretend to forget me, and every time you’ll open your mouth it will smell like a funeral parlour.
