Comments: We helped our camp, Meditation Station, deconstruct the install and toss out the moop. Finally, made it back to Ethan's place in San Jose late in the night. We crash landed like a UFO in New Mexico back into reality with our oversized camper van after spending 9 days getting dusty in the alkaline desert. Where days became hours and seconds were centuries, time blended and bleed together. The only sense of time was the clock on my phone to make sure I did not fuck up the project by being to late or too early. Kevin, Ethan's whacky and creative landlord, was waiting for us in the driveway. He was working on his new painting that he picked up off on curbs, thrift shops, and online. He had a knack for turning tossed out outdated canvas pieces into his new co-authored masterpieces. Which he would then resell on Ebay as new. It was one hell of a way to make a living. These are the things artists do to recycle, and recreate. Kevin was talking to us about his paint strokes while he was touching up this beauty beside the morning glory flower petals and bubbly pups. He looked at us and gestured at his new invention resting his feet inside a pair of running sneakers with the tips cut off as if they were sandals allowing the toes to breathe free. A true artist where all the facets of his daily life is encoded with an artistic touch. He threw his brushes down and hurried us into his basement to show us all his wares. Hundreds of beat up paintings waiting to be redeemed! Kevin had a collection of old masters with sketches taped to the frames. By the end of the tour his daughter came down and called for Kevin. Where he then tried to marry her off to one of us. It was a bizarre introduction to a very kind girl with a light filled smile. She would someday make a wonderful wife to the right man when it's time for them to fall in love. She took his car and drove away. Kevin continued to paint and sing in the driveway, I picked up a bow and was shooting arrows into their DIY target, Ethan was trimming weed and rolling joints, and Henrick went back to work at the glass blowing factory. Damn, it felt good to be back!
