Carat Clouds

I collaborated with Jenni Pasanen to create Carat Clouds, combining her distinctive visual style with the generative gemstone motif I have been developing since 0.20 carat. Published on fxhash on December 22nd, 2021, 0.20 carat introduced a series of 500 unique generative gems based on the emerald-cut shape. This later became the foundation for the Carat Signature series, where I invited other artists to reinterpret the motif through their own practice. Carat Clouds is an echo of that signature series, created this time as a collaboration with Jenni Pasanen. I come from a family of gemstones merchants going back a hundred years, and I am the first generation who did not continue in that trade. The carat series is my way to pay homage to this heritage. The 0.20 carat collection was dedicated to my mother. Her lifetime passion for gemstones and their beauty inspired my aesthetic sensibility and led me to pursue a career as an artist.
