Chromatic Tears

I first encountered Jenni Pasanen’s work at Bright Moments Tokyo in 2023, and was immediately captivated by its beauty. It is a true honor to be part of this collaboration. In this piece, I generated particles based on the color palette of Jenni’s artwork. The animation was created using TouchDesigner, a node-based visual coding software, and finalized with Adobe software. When I first saw Jenni’s work, I couldn’t tell whether the tiger was crying, roaring, or perhaps rejoicing, its eyes were covered with bubbles, concealing its expression. That ambiguity evoked a strange and fascinating feeling in me, and inspired the idea of creating a particle-based animation. I hope that the work offers a sense of change, allowing each viewer’s mood and perception to shape how they experience it, moment by moment.
