Sacred Layers

What SuperRare curated, what Faith Love posted, what Exchange Art banned — and whether Gradient Horizons #9 was part of the steal.

Sacred Layers by MireyitaStudio
Sacred Layers — Gradient Horizons #9. Won on SuperRare 5 Sep 2025. Andes / Cusco text. This is the collector token at the center of this file.

The artists are MireyitaStudio (@MireyitaStudio) and Faith Love (@Izzyalright). SuperRare did curate the Spanish artist through summer and autumn 2025. Then, in four days in December, a traced drawing, a manager drop, a 16-work Exchange Art dossier, and a SuperRare-adjacent comparison landed on the same name.

Three stories got flattened into one. Only one of them is the Faith Love drawing. Only one of them produced a platform ban. The Gradient Horizons landscape — this file’s object — is a third object.

Bottom line for this token

Not the Faith Love trace   Not in the 16-work EA packet   Same artist, later stained

No public side-by-side identified Sacred Layers as a copy of another artist’s composition. SuperRare did not pull Gradient Horizons. Exchange Art banned her for other inventory. A different SuperRare 1/1 — Lost Connection, on the SPECTRA contract — was the piece researchers flagged on SR.

The two artists

Mireyita (b. 1991, Spain, Madrid). Self-taught painter and textile artist; full-time from 2022 after leaving a family real-estate COO job. Public narrative is medical and maternal: strabismus surgeries in 2023, color as visual therapy, C-section scars in Healing Threads, seven months pregnant during the October SuperRare drop. Web3 since November 2021. Site: mireyitastudio.com.

Faith Love (@Izzyalright). Chicago. Minimal iPad line work, mental-health themes, some embroidery. In web3 since 2020; previously Coinbase CX. Site: faithloveart.xyz. Larger X following. Her language is spare figures, not candy landscapes. They were never stylistic twins. The first accusation is a composition steal, not “they paint alike.”

What SuperRare actually did

SuperRare did not “maybe show her once.” They onboarded her and put her on the house calendar.

Story 1 — Faith Love, 3–4 December

This is the explosion. It is not Sacred Layers.

On 3 December Faith Love posted her December 2024 drawing next to Mireyita’s “The Color Study / The artwork.” Same hands-over-face composition; Mireyita added a gradient fill. Ignition post

4 December, 01:51 UTC: “This is literally my work TRACED??????” — roughly 16k likes and 600k views. Thread

Mireyita’s account of that file: found on Pinterest, painted a physical, added gradients, one mistake, already apologized privately, did not mint that composition as the sold NFT. Faith’s account: two days of DM denials, a promised timelapse that did not arrive, the copy looking AI-processed, pregnancy used as a shield.

That afternoon @Hildabroom7 / Hildabroommgmt dropped her and apologized to Faith. Statement

Faith is an exceptional artist who's work towers on its own… we’re making the difficult decision to move forward from managing @MireyitaStudio.

That is the only “official” web3-adjacent institution that moved on day one.

Story 2 — Exchange Art, Bosmans, Johal

By 5 December @UnknownCo123 argued it was not one Pinterest accident. Google Lens hits on Jerry-Lee Bosmans and Angela Johal. Claim: the Color Perception series on Exchange Art looked like those works recolored, rotated, or pushed through AI. Thread (~110k views)

8 December @DD_ArtPulse filed about 16 works to Exchange Art. “Original artist is always to the left.” Report

One of the comparison grids circulated with the EA report — iridescent tubes and stacked color forms.

Angela Johal — Bay Area hard-edge painter, BFA San Jose State 1985. Hand-taped acrylics she calls “chromesthetic geometrics.” de Young, SFMOMA Artists Gallery, Bender Gallery. Not an NFT native. johalgeometrics.com

10 December Exchange Art banned her after “formal review.” Ban post

we have confirmed that this artist engaged in unauthorized use of another creator’s work. As a result, their account has been permanently removed from the platform.

That ban is the cleanest institutional finding in the file. It is about EA inventory. It does not automatically adjudicate every SuperRare 1/1. Community posts also said an objkt.com account was restricted; objkt did not publish a matching named statement in this sweep. Objkt policy does allow feature restriction without burning the chain. Guidelines

Story 3 — SuperRare after the fact

10 December DD posted a SuperRare-specific update: the Bosmans case “is known,” plus a second SR file. Left = @posterlad original. Middle = an EA piece already pulled. Right = Lost Connection, a SPECTRA 1/1 sold on SuperRare in October, minted via Transient Labs. Update

Lost Connection artwork
Lost Connection as Mireyita promoted it on 13 Oct 2025 — Bauhaus circles and piano-key stripes. Not a landscape. SPECTRA contract 0xa49a9dD7…, token 5.

9 December artist/curator @edouard: SuperRare “still sells these ‘curated’ counterfeit artworks.” Post
7 December @PKhazaeee aimed the anger at SR gatekeeping. Post

No SuperRare takedown thread turned up. SPECTRA and Gradient Horizons pages stayed up.

This collector’s two works

Sacred Layers — Gradient Horizons #9

along7.eth / @pengwinpants also appears in the Phase 2 bidder list SuperRare published, and is the named buyer of Healing Threads. The along7 vault later archived #9 (entered vault 30 Nov 2025; archived 10 Jul 2026).

Healing Threads — Mending Series physical

Announced 28 Nov 2025, 0.5 ETH, collected by @pengwinpants. Stitched painting about surgical scars. Different medium, different story, not in the DD 16-work EA packet.

Mireyita, 6 Dec 2025, to a collector: “the artworks you collected, and all my recent work, are not plagiarized!! neither the physical pieces nor the digital ones. My Gradient Horizons series and everything I’ve been creating lately come purely from my own process… Only a very small part of my work from 2024 was affected.” Post

That is her claim. It is not a lab clearance. What is true: nobody published a “Sacred Layers = Artist X” plate the way they did for Faith Love and for Lost Connection.

Afterlife, 2026

Mireyita kept posting studio and family work. January 2026: “Web3 was never my priority. I made mistakes, owned them, learned, and moved forward.” Faith Love kept making work; the December thread remains the receipt. SuperRare kept curating other artists and never posted a named apology. Exchange Art used the case as a zero-tolerance example.

On-chain the token is still a SuperRare-auctioned 1/1. Off-chain the artist’s name carries a documented IP mess. Both can be true.

What this file still cannot settle

Whether an unpublished reference or model sat under Sacred Layers. Whether SuperRare privately reviewed GH after 10 December. The exact objkt restriction, if any — only community mention, no named objkt post found. Any collector refunds. Those would need wallets, DMs, or platform staff, none of which are in the open record used here.
